West Bromwich Albion defender Paul Robinson has been charged with misconduct by the Football Association following his sending-off in Tuesday's 3-2 Carling Cup win at Fulham.

The left-back has been charged with using abusive and or insulting words to referee Andy D'Urso after receiving his red card at Craven Cottage. The former Watford defender has denied the charge and has requested a personal hearing. The club will give Robinson their full support at the hearing, which is expected to take place next Thursday.

Robinson is starting a three-match ban after being dismissed for violent conduct after an altercation with Fulham defender Zat Knight. He will be unavailable for Sunday's clash with Newcastle and the games with West Ham on November 5 and Everton on November 19. ..SUPL:
