Birmingham visitor attraction Thinktank has announced record visitor numbers for the start of the summer.

The Birmingham Science Museum, currently hosting the BBC Walking With Dinosaurs Exhibition, saw nearly 24,000 visitors during July – twice the number compared with last year.

Dr Nick Winterbotham, chief executive of Thinktank and Millennium Point, said: “This is now the third consecutive month that Thinktank has welcomed record visitor numbers, since opening back in 2001.

“The BBC Walking With Dinosaurs Exhibition is proving highly popular with families and groups.

“It seems that although the current economic climate might deter people from making certain purchases, a great value fun day out with all the family is something that customers are not willing to miss out on.

“Recent customer research tells us that the average time spent in Thinktank is over three hours and with a family ticket under £30 we still provide one of the best value days out in the region.”
