Birmingham pop star Jamelia is expecting a baby.
The 24-year-old singer is three months pregnant by Gillingham footballer Darren Byfield, also from Birmingham.
A spokesman for the star said: "Jamelia and Darren's first baby is due in October. They are ecstatically happy." The couple began dating last year and an engagement announcement is said to be on the cards.
Jamelia already has a fouryearold daughter, Teja, from a previous relationship.
The R&B star burst onto the music scene aged 18 but put her career on hold when Teja was born in 2001. After a two-year break she returned to the charts in 2003 with hit single Superstar and her career has gone from strength to strength.
She was recently nominated for an Ivor Novello award for her song Thank You.
Yesterday's happy news comes after troubled times for the Birmingham-born star.
Her step-brother Tafarwa Beckford was acquitted of the murders of Charlene Ellis and Letisha Shakespeare at a New Year party.
But her half-brother Kairo Beckford is serving a life sentence for another gangland killing.
