West Bromwich Albion suffered a slight injury scare as they stepped up their preseason action with a 1-0 win at Milton Keynes Dons last night.

Former skipper Darren Purse was taken off after only 15 minutes with what appeared to be an ankle injury.

His former Birmingham City team-mate Geoff Horsfield stole the show with the only goal of the match - his second in successive friendlies.

Albion's star was Polish goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak, who came on for the second half and made a string of fine saves against the League One outfit.

Birmingham City had a winning start on their threematch tour of Norway. Julian Gray and Mehdi Nafti scored in a comfortable 2-0 win over Egersund.

On Saturday Steve Bruce's men will take on Viking Stavanger.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are still intent on selling Henri Camara - even though the maverick striker has insisted that he will report for training tomorrow for the first time in 14 months.

After experiencing 'travel difficulties' in returning from Senegal, Camara missed Monday's already twicedelayed date to report back for pre-season training.

He has promised to report to Wolves' Compton training ground tomorrow to take part in his first session under Glenn Hoddle.

But, as far as Camara is concerned, reporting back to train with Wolves (if he turns up at all) is merely a means of fulfilling his contractual requirements. He is still understood to be unwilling to play outside the Premiership - the sole cause of his refusal to stay and play with Wolves this time last summer following their relegation from the top flight. That effectively leaves Wolves with no option but to obtain the best price they can for him.

Chief executive Jez Moxey said: "We have spoken to Henri and he has confirmed that he intends to report back at the training ground to join in with the squad.

"But the feeling I get from the majority of supporters I speak to suggests that they would still rather we sell Henri Camara - and that remains the club's position."

Brazilian trialist Ruben Darius Larossa enhanced his claims to a permanent contract at Walsall with a goal in a 3-0 victory against Halesowen Town at The Grove.

Larossa scored on 27 minutes with a coolly-taken finish after a shot by summer signing Danny Fox was blocked.

A glancing header by Kris Taylor from Craig Pead's cross doubled the lead just before half time.

The Saddlers made a raft of changes during the second period and added a third through Jorge Leitao on 88 minutes.

Summer signings Laurie Wilson and Michael Blackwood marked their first appearance with Kidderminster Harriers with goals in a 4- 2 win at Bromsgrove Rovers.

Wilson, signed from Burton Albion, struck twice and former Lincoln City winger Blackwood added one goal while Iyseden Christie notched another as Harriers' invention and pace brought a 4-0 lead.

Manager Stuart Watkiss made five changes after the break, including fielding new signing Gareth Sheldon who completed his move from Exeter City yesterday, but Rovers took advantage to grab two goals.

The delay in Lionel Newton and the Kidderminster Consortium concluding the legal paperwork had left a huge question mark over Sheldon's transfer after Exeter had extended a deadline to decide matters until yesterday.
