An open event is being held in Birmingham today (Monday) to give all interested parties the chance to have their say on the future structure of England’s largest provider of NHS community services.

The event, to be held at the Norman Power centre in Skipton Road, Ladywood between 11am and 7pm, forms part of a 12-week consultation ending on 5 December.

Views and comments gathered during the process will inform Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust’s plans for operating as a Foundation Trust.

All NHS organisations are required to become a Foundation Trust – or part of an existing one - by April 2014.

BCHC chief executive Tracy Taylor said: “We will use the views and ideas that people give us to make changes to our plans so that we will be structured in a way that assures our communities and stakeholders that we are well governed and locally accountable.”

A summary of views received and the changes the Trust intends to implement in response will be given to the Secretary of State for Health and will be considered as part of BCHC’s Foundation Trust application.
