A man has been arrested by police using a Taser after reports that members of the public had been threatened with a large knife in a Halesowen street.
West Midlands Police said the immobilising weapon was used by officers called to Clement Road, near Blackheath, when the 27-year-old suspect resisted attempts to arrest him shortly after 10.30am.
A police spokesman said Clement Road had now been sealed off to allow the scene of the incident to be forensically examined.
Detective inspector Nigel Smith, of Dudley CID, said: "At this early stage of the inquiry it is thought a number of people were threatened by this man, including two police officers who initially arrived at the scene.
"Thankfully, no-one was injured."
