A man found murdered in his home in Shropshire has been named by police.

Richard Sherratt, 57, was found dead in his flat last Thursday.

A post mortem showed he died from head injuries.

West Mercia Police said they were questioning three people from the West Midlands arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with Mr Sherratt's death in Old School Mews, off the High Street in Bridgnorth.

A man in his 50s from Tipton, Sandwell, a man in his 30s from Perry Barr, Birmingham and a woman in her 20s from Aston, Birmingham were arrested on Saturday, 16 June.

On Monday, magistrates granted West Mercia Police more time to question them.

A 30-year-old woman from Telford who was arrested last Thursday in connection with the murder was released without charge on Sunday.
