The family of a six-year-old girl killed in an arson attack in Birmingham was last night trying to come to terms with her death as police launched a murder inquiry.
Alisha Begum died after her house in Bayswater Road, Perry Barr, was engulfed in flames on Friday night. Her mother and four siblings managed to escape.
Police said her father, who was visiting relatives in Bangladesh, was on his way back to the city.
Det Insp Paul Hughes, of West Midlands Police's Major Investigation Unit, said officers want to speak to two Asian men who forced their way into the house.
"The men who did this are particularly brutal and callous," he said.
