Police investigating the death of a man outside of a Birmingham pub on March 26 have released the image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

Detectives from Bournville Lane police station are looking for John Anthony Leeson, who is 43 years old.  He is described as a white man, with a shaven head, brown eyes, of stocky build, is around 5ft 6ins tall, he has tattoos and a small scar under his left eye.

Officers launched a murder inquiry following the death of 38-year-old Andrew Mark Rowley, who suffered fatal injuries during the incident outside the Bugle Horn pub on Wareham Road, Frankley, just before 4.35pm on Wednesday, March 26.

A post-mortem revealed Mr Rowley died as a result of a single stab wound to the abdomen.

Following the execution of a number of search warrants in Birmingham over the weekend, a man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and is currently helping police with their enquiries.

Detective Inspector Richard Mayhew, the senior investigating officer for the inquiry, said: "We appeal for anyone who may be able to offer information regarding Mr Leeson’s whereabouts to contact us, as we believe that he has vital information which will help our investigation."
