Two pedestrians have been taken to hospital following a collision involving a car in Birmingham.

The two men were injured - one seriously - at the junction of Newtown Row and Newtown Middleway, just after 3pm on Monday.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said that a man in his 30s suffered serious head injuries and was anaesthetised by a doctor before being taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

A second man received a shoulder and head injury and was taken by ambulance to the City Hospital.

The female driver of the car was uninjured and did not require hospital treatment.
