Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne are the celebrities most people would like to join them for Christmas dinner, according to a survey published.

The Aston-born veteran heavy metal star topped a poll of shoppers in his native Birmingham with 22 per cent of the vote while his TV star wife was the choice of 29 per cent of those questioned.

David Beckham (21 per cent) was the second most popular choice of male guest, closely followed by Robbie Williams (17 per cent).

Prime Minister Tony Blair was way ahead in the poll to find the least welcome male guest, at 38 per cent, while Victoria Beckham was the least popular woman, matched only by former premier Margaret Thatcher at 24 per cent.

The poll of 500 people in the Pavilions Shopping Centre found that the least-wanted Christmas gift was socks (33 per cent),

And more women would like to receive jewellery (22 per cent) than sexy underwear (17 per cent), according to the survey.
