Wolves striker Freddy Eastwood will not have charges brought against him after an incident in a Basildon nightclub on Saturday.

The 23-year-old Wales international was arrested but was later released without charge.

"We have spoken to Freddy who tells us that when he stepped in to help break up an incident involving his brother-in-law he was punched and defended himself," Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey told the club’s website, www.wolves.co.uk.

"The police confirmed he was subsequently arrested, questioned, cautioned, released without charge, and that no further reaction will be taken.

"As far as we’re concerned, that is the end of the matter but we have reminded all our players to be mindful of being drawn into such incidents as this."
