Nine men arrested in connection with disorder at the Premiership derby match between Aston Villa and Birmingham City on October 31 have been charged with violent disorder.

Seven of the nine were arrested at the end of November as detectives from CID joined officers from the specialist Operations Unit and local officers for a string of co-ordinated dawn raids.

The eighth and ninth were arrested on Wednesday.

The ages of the men arrested range from 18 to 45 years old.

They come from Kingstanding, Moseley, Bromsgrove, Acocks Green, Erdington, Small Heath and Chelmsley Wood. Two come from Great Barr.

All nine are due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Tuesday, December 21.

Meanwhile, officers continue to hunt for two men wanted in connection with the disorder at that game.

Anyone who can name the men or tell officers where the pair live or work should call police on 0345 113 5000.

Alternatively, people who do not wish to speak to officers directly can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
