One of the golden rules of being a political party leader's adviser is to be certain the cameras are off before you burst into an interview.
But during a recent visit by UKIP's Nigel Farage to the Birmingham Post headquarters this slick media-type could not contain herself.
Reporter Les Reid had just quizzed Mr Farage over allegations made on www.hopenothate.org.uk that one of his party's press officers - Alexandra Phillips - had used offensive language on her Facebook page.
After the UKIP leader had given his answer, his 'minder' for the day strode forward to defend her under-fire colleague.
The press officer said: "I need to add into the thing about Alex Phillips.
"Alex Phillips, not only has she dated...
"She actually sponsors a child in Ghana, Hope Not Hate said she was racist."
