Dear Editor, Dr Andrew Wakefield has been struck off the Medical Register for claiming there is a connection between MMR injections and autism. Well the GMC are not exactly perfect themselves.
I do not remember any individuals or hospitals being censored over the terrible blunder of thalidomide nor were any cautioned over the scaremongering warning that swine flu would cause hundreds or thousands of deaths in Britain alone.
Mixed wards are a permanent embarrassment to the NHS which must also bear responsibility for a thousand preventable deaths at Stafford Hospital.
The GMC is also answerable to the public with the gradual privatisation of the NHS. Also the “supermarket surgeries” are an insult to the dignity of the public. They are ultimately responsible for the disintegration of the NHS. The GMC should clean their own stables out first.
