Newly-discovered secret papers which reveal the disgusting table habits of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler will be auctioned at Ludlow-based Mullock’s on March 5.

The Fuhrer was said by of one his agents to suffer from flatulence and indigestion brought on by over-eating. He bit his fingernails at mealtimes and rubbed the distinctive moustache.

Before the dictator’s suicide in 1945, the un-named general wrote: “Hitler eats rapidly, mechanically. For him food is merely an indispensable means of subsistence.”

The files were seized by a British intelligence officer after the war, should have been destroyed, and were discovered in a house clearance recently. Richard Westwood-Brookes, of Mullock’s, said: “The statement provides a vivid personal description of Hitler in his last days.”
