National Express UK Bus has appointed Peter Coates to the position of managing director with immediate effect.
He replaces Dave Kaye, who left the Birmingham group “for personal reasons” in September after less than a year at the helm.
Mr Coates joined National Express Group in 1997, moving to the Bus division two years later as Finance Director and has held the position of Interim Managing Director UK Bus since Mr Kaye’s departure.
“I am looking forward to delivering further improvements to the service our customers receive including continuing to invest in new buses,” said Mr Coates.
Dean Finch, chief executive of National Express Group said, “Peter has 12 years of senior management experience within our UK Bus Division and under his leadership we will continue to drive forward our UK bus business.”
