A new Midland property letting company has been formed – with 45 years of experience already under its belt.

Shortland Bassett has been established to handle residential lettings across the city and is already trading out of its first office in Coventry.

The new company is a joint venture between established residential estate agents Shortland Horne and Peter Moore.

It is the first time Shortland Horne – which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year – has ventured into the lettings market.

David Shortland said: “We have had various approaches over the years but have either felt that the time was not right, or the partner not suitable.

“We have dealt with Peter over several recent developments through his company Archer Bassett, and they all went very smoothly.

“Those experiences showed us that a joint operation would be of considerable benefit to potential customers.

“We have very good connections with developers across the region and this adds another string to our bow.

“Conversely, Peter has expertise in the management of rental property and that is attractive to our clients.”

Shortland Bassett now has two members of staff working from the joint offices of Shortland Horne in Walsgrave and will roll out the service through its other two bases in the city centre and in Earlsdon.

Mr Moore said: “There are several reasons why this is the right time to launch this venture and we are sure it will go well.

“The east of Coventry has traditionally not been our strongest patch, but the new office will allow us to build on the presence which Shortland Horne has successfully built up after opening its office in Walsgrave.

“We will be marketing a wide range of properties and offering a full service to tenants and landlords.”
