Stourbridge 13 Barking 13
Much-changed Stour-bridge ended their three-match losing run but were held to a draw by fourth-placed big-spenders Barking and their multi-national squad.
Stourbridge left out fly-half Duncan Hughes and hooker Alan Hubbleday and gave debuts to loan signing Alastair Bressington from Moseley at fullback and Irfan Clunis from Worcester at hooker.
Utility back Jon Hall, switched to centre, led the side out on his 150th appearance in his tenth season in the first XV.
The first 25 minutes consisted of scoreless midfield jockeying but the visitors went ahead when Stour lost control at a five-metre defensive scrum and Barking No 8 Steve Rokobora was put over to score an unconverted try.
Bressington replied with a penalty but a careless Stourbridge foot in the ruck set up a chance from which full-back Kit Branch sped in for the visitors' second try.
Branch could not convert but did add a 22-metre penalty which gave Barking a 13-3 half-time lead.
Stourbridge came out firing after the break ("You wouldn't want to know what I said" was director of rugby Neil Mitchell's assessment of his half-time talk) and were soon back in the game as wing James O'Brien sprinted in from a 40-metre interception which Bressington converted.
The full-back then put over another penalty to level the scores but Stourbridge could not capitalise on a number of chances.
