Dear Editor, Our current House of Commons has managed to do something which hasn’t been done since the Second World War. They have united the country, against them!
By twisting and turning the expenses rules many MPs, but not all, have been shown to be having their snouts well and truly in the trough. Certain MPs whose actions are fraudulent should be before a court of law.
Ignoring this issue for a moment, far too many of our MPs seem to live on another planet with no connection to, or understanding of, the everyday problems of the average voter. They obey the party whips and simply ignore the wishes of the ordinary, decent, hardworking voters who simply want our MPs to represent public opinion and leave aside their personal or party interests. All three major parties are guilty of ignoring the public, who want proper decisive action from their government on major issues such as crime, immigration, NHS and council tax.
What hope is there that one of the big three parties will see the light and decide to put public opinion first? Absolutely none, I’m afraid because those ‘maverick’ MPs who speak out never actually get the influential ministerial jobs.
For an alternative party whose policy is based purely on public opinion, go to www.commonsenseparty.ork.uk, where your readers will be able to express an opinion and vote on the common sense ideas that we offer.
Should they have ideas that we have not included, then they are welcome to give us suggestions. We are ‘all ears’ to what you have to say.
What exactly have you got to lose?
