A murder inquiry has been launched in Whitchurch after a 29-year-old man was found dying in a street.
The victim, who died shortly after his arrival at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, was found seriously injured in Worthington Street at 2.45am on Sunday.
A 31-year-old man was arrested in connection with the death and is currently in custody at Shrewsbury police station.
Acting Detective Superintendent Dave Morgan, who is leading the inquiry, said it appeared that the man had been stabbed.
