Murder enquiry launched as man dies after stabbing in Birmingham

Police have launched a murder inquiry after a man stabbed on Wednesday in Birmingham died from his injuries.

The victim, a 45-year-old man from Birmingham, suffered a stab wound to the back after being attacked at around 1.45am in Gospel Lane, Acocks Green. He died in hospital shortly before 4pm.

A 37-year-old local man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is helping police with their enquiries.

The investigaion is on-going and officers are appealing for anyone who may have been in the Gospel Lane area at around the time of the incident, or anyone with information, to contact the CID at Kings Heath on 0845 113 5000 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.}
