Birmingham City's Republic of Ireland striker Clinton Morrison acknowledged the team's tiredness showed in their 1-0 win over China in last night's international at Lansdowne Road.

Morrison netted the only goal of an untidy match eight minutes from time - but the Blues forward acknowledged Brian Kerr's team were not at their best.

The Irish conceded a late equaliser to Israel in their World Cup qualifier on Saturday and endured a difficult journey home, and Morrison said: "Some of the lads were tired - we've done a lot of travelling."

"I'm just pleased to get a run-out, another cap - and another goal."
