KIDDERMINSTER (second day): Worcestershire 334-5 dec (MM Ali 92, BF Smith 71, SM Davies 50no) & 200-0 (SC Moore 138no, DKH Mitchell 55no) v Loughborough UCCE 194 (AC Cope 51; GJ Batty 5-43)

Another century for Stephen Moore helped Worcestershire take a firm grip on their game against Loughborough UCCE at Kidderminster.

Moore (138 off 107 balls, 13 fours, nine sixes) raced to his third century of the season from 87 balls, the second 50 requiring just 30 balls, as Worcestershire extended their lead to 340 at stumps. Daryl Mitchell (55 off 99 balls, seven fours and a six) lent support as the pair posted an unbeaten stand of 200 for the first wicket in Worcestershire's second innings.

Earlier off-spinner Gareth Batty claimed the 14th five-wicket haul of his career as the students made 194. The seamers shared the remainder of the wickets, with Matt Mason having Richard Morris taken in the slips and Chris Whelan delivering a much tighter spell after a wayward start.

Mehraj Ahmed was perhaps the most impressive, however, and fully deserved his maiden first-class wicket when Michael Baer was beaten by a quick short ball and could only fend it off to slip.
