One of the largest NHS trusts in the country is looking for a new chairman.

Heart of England Foundation Trust, which runs the Birmingham Heartlands, Solihull and Good Hope hospitals, has sent out adverts for a new head following the stepping down of incumbent Clive Wilkinson after nearly 10 years.

The new chairman in the £50,000-a-year job will lead a trust with an annual turnover of more than £265 million serving more than a million people around north and east Birmingham, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Tamworth, Burntwood and the surrounding areas.

Mr Wilkinson will be standing down in the new year. He started the job in February 2001 after previously being the chairman of the NHS Executive West Midlands Region from 1997 to 2001.
