A pilot and his 80-year-old passenger were taken to hospital yesterday after the light aircraft they were flying crash-landed on farmland.
The two-seater microlight got into difficulties after taking off from Otherton Airfield, near Penkridge, Staffordshire.
The Kitfox aircraft crashed on land at Brockhurst Farm, north of Weston Park, in Weston-under-Lizard.
Staffordshire Police said the pilot, aged in his mid-50s, was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.
His elderly passenger was trapped in the microlight and had to be released by fire-fighters before being transported to the same hospital.
The extent of the couple's injuries is not known but none was believed to be life-threatening.
