Paul Merson is expected to meet with Jeff Bonser today to discuss what changes he can make to his squad in the transfer window.

It was widely reported that Merson had met with Bonser yesterday, but the chairman isn't back in his office until today, but he can expect a knock on his door early in the morning from an irate Merson, who has reached the end of his tether.

Monday's insipid performance at Bristol City, which resulted in a 3-0 loss, was their seventh defeat in eight away games and has left them adrift of the play-off zone in 12th.

And to compound matters, Walsall's teenage prospect Ishmel Demontagnac, over-slept on the morning of the game and failed to arrive at the team coach at the allotted time. He claimed he thought it was a day off and his failure to arrive only increased Merson's ire.

"We need maybe six players and we need people in right away," said a fuming Merson. "I've got a nucleus of players here with a brilliant attitude who'd run through a brick wall for this club.

"With some others that's not the case and they should be taking a good look at themselves. Certain players have had enough chances."

Jorge Leit?o will make his final appearance in a Saddlers shirt at Barnsley in the FA Cup on Saturday.
