A memorial service for Lord Lichfield will be held next year at Lichfield Cathedral, officials have announced.
The service will be held on February 9 and members of the public can apply to attend.
A cathedral spokesman: "There are many hundreds of people in our local communities who enjoyed Lord Lichfield's great charm and character.
" He was a man who achieved many things in the public eye but countless others were quietly and willingly undertaken to help local needs, especially in areas surrounding his beloved ancestral home at Shugborough."
"This service will provide an opportunity for people to pay their last respects in a personal way that recognises their own affection and high regard for such a well known figure."
To apply to attend send a stamped addressed return envelope to Lord Lichfield Memorial Service, Room 11, County Buildings, Stafford ST16 2LH.
The closing date is January 12.
