Gary McSheffrey and Stephen Kelly are both surprise inclusions in the Birmingham City squad to face Wolves in the FA Cup this weekend.
But Sebastian Larsson and James McFadden (both groin) are doubtful for the visit of the Championship leaders to St Andrew's on Saturday.
“McSheffrey is full steam ahead now, Kelly is back into the squad as well,” said manager Alex McLeish. “Ideally we would like them to have had a couple of bounce [practice] games under their belts, but the physio has said they are available for selection.
“It’s just Seb and James the ones we are nursing at the moment.”
McSheffrey, who has been troubled by a knee problem, and Kelly (thigh) rejoined the main training group at Wast Hills this week.
McLeish, meanwhile, has confirmed that he is not proceeding with a free transfer move for Jordi Lopez, recently of Real Mallorca.
Concerns over the midfielder’s medical made McLeish cautious, and he is also considering other options.
He said: “It’s on the back-burner. We’re looking at other situations just now to freshen up the squad for the second-half of the season, a bit more flair and speed in the team.”
