Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish expects his side to bounce back from Wednesday's defeat at West Ham and has immediately set his sights on Derby in the FA Cup at the weekend.

Blues travel to Pride Park in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

"The lads have done that time and time again and the challenge now is for them to do it again," said McLeish. "We have an FA Cup tie against Derby at the weekend and the carrot is for the players to show they can bounce back but they know they can do that."

McLeish was disappointed that his side conceded a goal against West Ham in first-half injury time. Scott Dann's foul on Scott Parker was a costly one as Diamanti sent the free-kick into the roof of the net.

"In the first half I though we played well," said McLeish. "I thought we were relatively in control. We started to penetrate a little bit. We just could not quite get the killer touch.

"To concede a goal on half time the way we did was very disappointing. They got a spring in their step when the second one went in. But the lads have shown they can bounce back. They have shown that before."
