Mick McCarthy has hinted that there could be changes in the Wolverhampton Wanderers line-up for the match on Saturday away to Birmingham City.

The defeat against Hull City last weekend meant they have lost five away matches on the run.

"Places are up for grabs, absolutely," he said. "It might be a case of changing the personnel a bit, that's something for me to think about.

"We've lost five away games in a row so we're not going into the next one thinking we're nice and comfortable and have been doing great.

"It might have to be a change of personnel, and sometimes it works, the short, sharp shock treatment. We'll just have to see, and I've got until Saturday to make that decision."

Wolves have sent on-loan defender David Wheater back to Middlesbrough after he failed to hold down a first-team place. Wheater, 19, completed only half of his proposed two-month stint, making only one first-team appearance.
