Pertemps Bees back-row forward Will Matthews is in the England Sevens core squad for this season's IRB World Sevens Series tournaments.
Matthews, who has joined Pertemps Bees on loan from Guinness Premeirship club Gloucester, is one of nine players who have made themselves available for the eighttournament series which gets underway in Dubai in December.
The core squad, plus an extended squad of 29, will also be preparing for the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne next March.
Matthews, who scored a match-winning try for Bees against Plymouth Albion last month, made his England sevens debut in last season's IRB Series.
He is sidelined with a dislocated thumb sustained playing for Gloucester in a Guinness A League match but is expected to be fit to be considered for selection for the National League One match at Exeter on Saturday.
