A burns victim has been taken to hospital after a severe fire at a distillery which disrupted services on a nearby railway line.

More than 70 firefighters were deployed to tackle the blaze in Langley, West Midlands, shortly before 10am today following reports of an explosion.

West Midlands Police said several roads were cordoned off due to the fire at Alcohols Ltd on Crosswells Road, while residents in the immediate vicinity were evacuated from their homes.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that a man in his 20s was treated at the scene for burn injuries before being taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
