A man was last night fighting for his life after a microlight aircraft crashed on a golf course in Staffordshire.
The pilot, who was alone in the aircraft, suffered life-threatening injuries in the incident at Parkhall Golf Course in Stoke-on-Trent just after 1pm yesterday.
A spokeswoman for Staffordshire Police said the man was temporarily trapped in the microlight but was airlifted to hospital.
Emergency services were at the scene and the Civil Aviation Authority has been contacted.
The man was released from the wreckage by fire crews.
