Birmingham shoppers watched in horror as a man fell from the the Rotunda today.
Paramedics and police raced to the scene after reports that a 24-year-old man had jumped from the roof of the 266ft tall landmark and landed on the roof of shops.
West Midlands paramedics treated the man for serious injuries but there were unconfirmed reports that he may have died at the scene.
West Midlands Police cordoned off the area and an investigation has begun. A spokesman said: “Police and ambulance were called at 12.22pm to reports of a man having fallen from a high level of the Rotunda.
“He was treated at the scene for serious injuries by paramedics.”
