A man has died and another has been injured following a road traffic collision in Stallings Lane, Kingswinford.

The crash between two cars happened shortly after 5am on Monday and left one of the vehicles overturned.

 A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said crews arrived to find a man who had managed to get out of one car suffereing a cardiac arrest.

The spokesman added: "Full resuscitation attempts were carried out on the man at the scene. Crews continued to provide emergency medical treatment while on route to Russells Hall Hospital.

"Unfortunately despite best efforts of ambulance crews and hospital medics, nothing could be done to save the man who was confirmed deceased at hospital."

This was the second serious incident in Kingswinford in 24 hours. A driver suffered neck and head injuries after his car overturned at the junction of the A449 and Lawnswood at 4.40pm on Sunday.

The driver, a man in his 50s, was placed in a neck brace and put on a stretcher. He was taken by ambulance to Russells Hall Hospital for further assessment and treatment.

The driver of the second car, a man believed to be in his 70s, was treated at scene for a knee injury before being taken to hospital in Dudley."
