Man dies after colliding with train in Black Country

A man has died following a collision with a train in the Black Country.

The incident happened at Smethwick Galton Bridge railway station, shortly after 12.35pm today, Wednesday.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Unfortunately, from the outset, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene.

“The train driver, who was in shock, was assessed by ambulance crews and was discharged at the scene.”
