A 43-year-old man has been charged with murdering a father-of-eight during a disturbance at a social club in Tipton.
The man, who has not been named by West Midlands Police, will appear at Warley Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday charged with killing Darren Jones.
Mr Jones, 42, was taken to hospital late on Sunday but died a short time later.
The victim, who lived in the Tipton area, died of severe head injuries after officers were called to the Greets Green Social Club in Whitehall Road at 10.23pm.
In a statement issued on their behalf by West Midlands Police, Mr Jones’ family said: “Darren’s death has left our family devastated beyond words.
“Children have been robbed of a loving father and grandfather and their lives will never be the same.”
