A man has appeared in court charged with murdering his own father who died after he was attacked with a machete.
Zahid Mohammed (20), of Bordesley Green Road, Bordesley Green, was remanded in custody by Birmingham Magistrates’ Court.
The victim, named locally as Mohammed Anyait, 40, was found with severe head injuries outside his home on Bordesley Green Road at 2am on December 30. The father-of-three was taken to Heartlands Hospital were he was later pronounced dead.
A 22-year-old man arrested after the incident has been released without charge.
