Police have arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with the murder of an Indian woman in Handsworth, Birmingham.
Detectives launched a murder inquiry after the 23-year-old woman's body was found at a house in Montague Road at about 4.45pm on Tuesday.
Officers said on Wednesday that a post-mortem examination had been carried out and it found the woman had died of head injuries. Police said he was an Indian national who was studying in the UK.
No further details about her identity will be released until she has been formally identified, police said.
West Midlands Police said a man who had suffered serious injuries was discovered at the same house.
