A 48-year-old man has been arrested after members of the emergency services found a woman's body at an address in Cannock.
Staffordshire Police said officers were treating the death of the 59-year-old woman as unexplained after being called to the property in Cannock Road at about 2.45am on Monday.
A post-mortem examination is due to take place later on Monday and police are appealing to anyone who has any information about the death to contact Staffordshire's Major Investigations Department on 01785 233600.
