A documentary film of indie legends The Libertines is to show at the 02 Academy in Birmingham this month, including a chance for fans to take part in a Q&A with director Roger Sargent and the band's drummer Gary Powell.

The Libertines: There Are No Innocent Bystanders follows the band’s 2010 reunion, which saw Pete Doherty and Carl Barat team up again for the Reading and Leeds Festivals after a split saw them pursue separate projects.

It includes the NME cover shoot with photographer Sargent, through the rehearsals and warm-up shows, to being on stage on the big night.

Narrated by the band in their own words, the film spans the period of time from the announcement of the reunion to the weekend of the Reading and Leeds festivals – their first ‘on the road’ experience together for six years.

Sargent's film exposes the tensions behind the celebrated and hotly debated reunion and explores the history of the band, allowing them to discuss how they became what they did.

The film will be followed by a Q&A with director Roger Sargent and drummer Gary Powell.

The Libertines: There Are No Innocent Bystanders will be shown at the 02 Academy Birmingham on March 20. Tickets are available from www.ticketweb.co.uk and www.gigsandtours.com
