Kidderminster Harriers' push for promotion stuttered as Tamworth strengthened their bid to remain in the Conference in last night's derby at the Lamb. A 0-0 draw was a reflection of a scrappy affair at the Lamb.

FA Trophy finalist Harriers had the edge in scoring opportunities without really testing keeper Jose Veiga. The impressive Russ Penn sent one first-half effort whizzing over and had another blocked.

But they went closest to scoring when Iyseden Christie's header from a Johnny Harkness corner was scrambled off the line by John McGrath midway through the second period.

Former Harrier McGrath provided the invention in Tamworth's side and had a hand in a neat move with Simon Heslop and Darryll Taylor which ended with Jake Edwards flicking a header wide just before half-time.

Edwards was denied after the break by a stunning save from Steve Taylor, with the young keeper tipping over a cracking effort that was heading for the top corner. Taiwo Atieno might have snatched victory for the Lambs late on, only for his shot to deflect wide off a defender.
