An under-strength Birmingham University ladies side came unstuck against KRS in the top match in ladies division one of The Birmingham League.
Jackie Latham and Catrina Hamilton took the honours for the Handsworthbased side as they thrashed the students 5-1 which has opened the title race once more for Hotshots and Central.
To complete an excellent week for KRS, the mixed side defeated Solihull & Shirley 5-4 in division one. England's Chris Tonks sparkled once more with an undefeated display with Jackie Latham.
Tim Lawrence and Catrina Hamilton took the two remaining matches to complete a double over Solihull.
However, the first men's side recorded an emphatic 8-1 win over Broadway II in the only top match of the week. John Hudson with Andy Kitching and Rob Forrester with Jo Hulse remained unbeaten while Andy Pattie and Paul Harris took a further two.
Warwickshire's fourth Inter-County side returned from Shropshire II with an emphatic 14-1 victory.
The four singles victories set the tone for the match after Tom Burton, Alistair Smith, Fontaine Chapman and Kate Strong all won in two straight games.
Strong took the honours with four wins in the match. Other unbeaten performances from the side with three wins each were: Burton, Chapman, Jo Hulse, Jenny Hoare and Farah Moloobhai to secure their second consecutive victory.
The Warwickshire over-40 and over-50s were in action at home at St Augustine's, Coventry. The over-40s beat Staffordshire 7-5 while the over-50s lost by the same score to Derbyshire.
Coventry's Rose Winship contributed three wins, two ladies doubles with Linda Callender and a mixed doubles with Stuart Cherry for the over-40s, while an unbeaten performance by Solihull & Shirley's Judy Warrington could not prevent a 7-5 defeat for the over-50s.
The first County begin their defence of the Championship next weekend at Milton Keynes when they play Worcestershire and Avon on the Saturday and Essex on the Sunday.
Coventry's 15-year-old Fontaine Chapman, the current Warwickshire closed ladies singles holder, will be making her full first team debut after the withdrawal of Julia Mann.
Chapman will be making her debut alongside fellow Coventry star, Jill Pittard.
