New educational facilities are to be built at the City Technology College Kingshurst Academy as part of a £10.5 million project.
Existing teaching accommodation will also be refurbished at the North Solihull site as part of the scheme involving global developers ISG.
The City Technology College, which opened in 1988, now has more than 1,500 students aged between 11 and 19.
Redevelopment work will enable the college to bring together a range of departments within purpose-built, modern teaching accommodation.
The project will see ISG build a new steel frame, four-storey teaching block, as well as a traditionally-constructed single-storey training block on an existing car park area.
Work will be phased to enable partial occupation of the new buildings prior to the demolition of a 1960s prefabricated teaching block.
