Ledley King ' s hopes of playing for England against Argentina in Geneva on Saturday-are much improved after it was revealed he will train today.
The Tottenham Hotspur defender had missed the squad's opening training session with a knee injury after playing for his club against Bolton on Monday.
Following further assessment, the Football Association have confirmed that the 25-yearold, earmarked by manager Sven-Goran Eriksson for the midfield holding role, will take part in today's training session in Manchester.

If King is able to prove his fitness, Eriksson may persist with a diamond midfield formation, with Frank Lampard in the attacking role and Steven Gerrard pushed to the left.
Otherwise, he would have to decide whether to use one of three other potential holding midfielders chosen in his squad - Michael Carrick, Alan Smith and Phil Neville - or revert to a flat-packed midfield quartet.
