Broadway's first men's and mixed sides are on course to retain the Division One titles in the Birmingham League following more success over their nearest challengers.
Trevor Kernick and Steve Pemberton took the honours in a 6-3 win over Birmingham University students in the top men's match of the week. The Leroy Campbell-Handal Suryaputra duo won a further two games.
Kernick and Kirsty Tarr produced the match-winning performance against KRS in the mixed division while Rupert Sterling and Linzi Kernick ensured the points with two further games. The Tim Lawrence-Catriona Hamilton pairing won two games for the losers.
Richard Wrigley with Ben Witham, and Ivor Griffiths with John Forde, were in impressive form as the students whitewashed Broadway men's II.
In Division One, Central Ladies confirmed their status as champions by whitewashing Solihull & Shirley I 6-0 with Tracy and Reggie Baker joining Catherine Grant and Rachel Priddy in being undefeated.
Four Oaks men's I won their sixth consecutive Division Two match, defeating Cocks Moors 5-4. Matt Gregory with Matt Jeans provided the Streetly side with a match-winning effort while Debbie Byrd starred for Cocks Moors ladies as they beat the University 7-6 on games after the sides finished tied at 3-3.
Warwickshire III secured the county title by beating Nottinghamshire IV 11-4 at St Augustine's, Coventry, with Pete Wiley, Sam Barber, Sue Lee and Bethany Wong winning three games each. The seconds were beaten 13-2 despite Mary Le Druillanec and Sara Mason winning both ladies doubles.
The over-40s side defeated Shropshire I, 10-2, to confirm a play-off match with Derbyshire I at the end on March. The winner will compete at the veterans' national championships in Hertford at the end of April.
