Wicketkeeper Keith Piper has left Warwickshire after a 19-year association with the county.
Piper had been second XI coach at Edgbaston but the club have decided to merge his post with that of elite academy coach Dougie Brown.
Former England and Scotland all-rounder Brown will now take on the new role of assistant coach with Piper taking voluntary redundancy.
Director of cricket Ashley Giles said: "Firstly, I would like to thank Pipes for his service to the club. He has been a great servant for Warwickshire and has been a lively character to have around the dressing room both in his playing career and as a coach.
"Pipes will always be remembered for his outstanding keeping skills during the glory years in the nineties.
"Moving forward, I believe Dougie will bring his raw enthusiasm and passion for cricket into his new role, he is a Bear through and through and will offer support both mentally and physically to the players in his charge."
