Worcestershire paceman Kabir Ali has hit out at his exclusion from the latest England Test and one-day squads and demanded: "What more do I have to do to get picked?"

Kabir became the first player in the country last week to take 50 wickets in the LV County Championship at an average of 18.9 runs apiece and has a strike rate of one wicket every 31 balls in 2008.

But all he has to show for his efforts is a place in the England Lions squad for the two one-day games with South Africa on August 14 and 16.

Kabir, 27, said: "It's disappointing that I haven't made the main squads. I feel that I am good enough.

"I think I have been playing well in the County Championship, the Pro40 League and in the Twenty20 Cup and I deserve a little bit more than this. But beggars can't be choosers and, if I keep going, who knows?

"I now have to make the most of this chance and hopefully show the selectors what I can do - and try to get on a tour this winter."

Meanwhile, Worcestershire have extended the deadline for in-form opener Stephen Moore to make a decision on his future.

Moore became the first player in the country to score 1,000 first class runs in 2008 last week.

Five counties have given 28 days notice of approach to speak to Moore including county champions Sussex and Friends Provident Trophy finalists Essex.

He had been scheduled to make a decision by Monday but has been given more leeway to decide whether or not to remain with the Royals after this season.

Worcestershire chief executive Mark Newton said: "We still haven't had a decision from Stephen. It is imminent but he is still considering things and we are happy to extend the deadline slightly. He knows that we want him to stay."
