Dele Adebola is backing his partner-ship with Stern John to cause havoc among Championship defences, as Coventry attempt to build on their pugnacious performance against Middlesbrough last Saturday.
The Sky Blues travel to Hull tonight looking to build on their last two results - obliterating Derby 6-1 and drawing 1-1 with Middlesbrough in the FA Cup.
Micky Adams' team lie 16th in the Championship table, nine points clear of the safety zone. Dennis Wise returns from suspension tonight but Stephen Hughes is sidelined with an Achilles injury. Coventry lost 2-0 at home to Hull last September, their first loss at the Ricoh Arena.
John was on target last Saturday, taking his tally to three in two games, after being loaned out to Derby at the start of the campaign.
His powerful combination with Adebola - 12 goals thus far - is augmented by Gary McSheffrey's dozen strikes, making the Sky Blues a potent force.
"The partnership with Stern is going really well. It went well at the back end of last season but fortunately I am not the one who makes the decisions!" Adebola said, laughing.
"Stern is a fantastic player and has come back and shown a great attitude. He has started to bang in the goals and prove exactly what quality he has got.
"Gary McSheffrey played really well against Middlesbrough, but has already got 12 goals this season, so I would imagine he has caught the eye of a few clubs already. We want to keep hold of him though and the club want to build."
Adebola says the performance against Middlesbrough can be a springboard.
